I definately wouldn't call this a "speed-paint", but it didn't take me as long as I thought it would if you don't count the months I've postponed working on it. Ah well.
I must say, I'm not really satisfied with it, being so dull and all, but it turned out ok I guess.

The blob in the background is supposed to be Fire Lady Katara holding a lamp as she sadly looks into her daughter's room.

I guess Zuko has been away for awhile (a year) doing something....Fire Lordy...and little Kya (anyone pickup on the name here?) lights a fire in her palm to keep his love in her company.
Or, if you want to make it sadder (and truer to the song)....he could be.....dead. Oh my god, I'm tearing up!

I gave her dark skin because it seems to be the dominant gene. Why blue eyes? Because I was feeling uncreative at the time. Generally, I think of the Zutara-kids and having dark skin, no bending, and either the same or mixed-colored (one blue, one gold) eyes. Yesh.

'Ne way, I'm proud of the back ground even though it's simplicity is something a toddler could master.

Yes, I know the shadows are off. It still works. Also, I need to fix her mouth. It's dulled down by the layers over it and you can't see just how sad it makes her look. Like she's silently bawling.
